Clifford has completed a number of projects for us including fixing a deteriorating shed, reinforcing a retro fitting that was incomplete, saving a gate so it didn't need to be completely replaced. Clifford is fair in his pricing, gives detailed estimates, responds promptly, communicates efficiently if things change, refers well to other trades when needed and researches on projects to make sure he approaches them with the latest information. Job Completed. Job details. This is a deck way to the entrance of the house. The tiles were old and water was leaking into the plywood below. We had to take all of the plywood up and replace it. We also installed concrete board on top of the plywood to ensure water proofing. Installed tiles on top of the concrete board. I have used Clifford for several jobs in the recent past and I can recommend him without qualification. He repaired an elevated walkway to our front door installing Italian tiles. The job was perfect. It required a lot of planning and precision as well as subtle grading to ensure proper drainage. All done perfectly. Then he repaired a deck surrounding a redwood that had grown too big causing a deformity. Again he did a flawless job, perfectly matching the existing wood. Most recently Clifford made himself available on short notice for a smaller job that needed immediate attention. I regard Clifford as a true thinking man's craftsman who takes real pride in his work. He is a gentleman and completely trustworthy. Screws were used on the plywood instead of nails, which are required by code. After consultation between the engineer, customer and myself, it was suggested to use the URFP/FREP plates in addition to re-nailing, otherwise, all of the plywood would have to be taken of and replaced. This created a significant saving in time and materials, but also reinforced the structures ability to withstand an earthquake. The work was completed and passed inspection.
